Son of Gilbert S. Stairs, M.C., K.C., and Amie Beatrice Stairs, of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Received his B.A. (History and Philosophy option) in 1941 (The Quad, 1941, p.19).

Member of the Students’ Executive Council and President of the Dramatic Society in 1941 (The Quad, 1941, p.35, 38). Member of the Glee Club; later President and conductor of the Club (The Quad, 1939, p.42; 1940, p.48; 1941, p.40).

Played on the Second Year Intramural Hockey team in 1940 (The Quad, 1940, p.66). Member of the Ski team (The Quad, 1940, p.65; 1941, p.55).
